The terms of two elected directors will expire at the end of 2022: Vice President Cynthia J. Boyle and Director Arthur Daemmrich. A term-limit provision in AIHP\u2019s bylaws bars Dr. Daemmrich, who is completing his second three-year term, from continued service on the Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Committee has nominated Dr. Boyle to stand for re-election as Vice President. Ms. Boyle first joined AIHP\u2019s Board of Directors in 2020 as an appointed director. The Board elected her to the position of Vice President in December 2021 to serve the remaining year of the term of Vice President John Grabenstein, who had vacated that position in November 2021 to become AIHP\u2019s President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Boyle recently retired from her position as a Professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She earned pharmacy degrees from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, and she has practiced pharmacy in the community, health system, and consulting settings. She is past president of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and a former president of her state pharmacy association and its foundation. Dr. Boyle has been an AIHP member since 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Institute members will choose between two nominees to fill the director position being vacated by Dr. Daemmrich. The Nominations Committee has nominated Patricia C. Kienle and Terri Smith Moore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patricia C. Kienle, MPA, BCSCP, FASHP, is the Director of Accreditation and Medication Safety for Cardinal Health Innovative Delivery Solutions where she leads efforts to ensure that Cardinal Health\u2019s client hospitals establish and maintain comprehensive, safe, and effective medication use systems. A nationally recognized expert in medication safety, quality assurance in sterile product and hazardous drug preparation, and accreditation and regulatory compliance, Ms Kienle is the recipient of the 2022 Harvey A.K. Whitney Lecture Award, health-system pharmacy\u2019s highest honor. Her other awards and honors include the 2014 ASHP Award for Distinguished Pharmacy Leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms. Kienle is a graduate of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Marywood University in Scranton, PA. She is also an adjunct clinical faculty member at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Ms. Kienle has been an AIHP member since 1983, and she is a member of the Institute’s Investments Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terri Smith Moore, PhD, MBA, RPh, CPH, is currently the Senior Director of Academic Services and Strategic Initiatives at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). In that capacity, she manages the staff teams responsible for the association journal, institutional research surveys and data, and membership governance affinity groups. Dr. Moore closely works on the association\u2019s strategic planning process, implementation and evaluation. She co-leads AACP\u2019s efforts in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-racism, and works on AACP initiatives related to public health, academic innovations and practice transformation in pharmacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Moore has a BS Pharmacy degree, an MBA in Health Services Administration, both from Howard University, and a PhD in pharmacy administration from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Moore has numerous publications and presentations to her credit, including serving as editor of A History of Pharmaceutical Education at Howard University 1868\u20131981<\/em> (2019). She has been an AIHP member since 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As required by AIHP\u2019s bylaws, the Nominations Committee will present this slate of nominees at the Institute\u2019s Annual Members Meeting (previously called the Annual Business Meeting), which will be held Thursday, November 10, starting at 1:00 pm Central.
